have fuel stops anywhere along the way? It looks like there are some serious miles when you get into the center of the country.

On highways, whenever there's more than 200km between towns there's usually at least one "roadhouse" (a service station that usually has a small general store, cafe, and camping ground) along the way. For much of the trip across the Nullarbor these are the only settlements you'll see.

On remote roads there are no services and we carry jerrycans. Many of us also carry them in roadhouse territory because roadhouse fuel is at least 20% more expensive than town fuel. And every now and again they can't give you any, e.g. if their generator has gone down their pumps won't operate.

Of course there are a lot of petrol stations all along the highways. But most people wouldn't drive and would fly instead. The cost of petrol is so high that it's much easier to fly between cities.

As for the middle of the country, there's nothing really in there besides Ayers Rock, which Australians might go to once in our lifetimes. We pretty much hang around the edge of the country (close to the ocean and beaches)

Fuel? The only fuel my kangaroo needs is grass and some water. And if he carks it, then I`ll just grab the nearest emu.

No they don't and because of this there's a huge build-up of broken-down cars approx 500 miles from every city.

Maybe they should do something about this eh?
