I am always amazed by this question, because many Americans don't understand their "tax household". (I'm not being ugly I promise). It is just that you and your husband are one as a Tax Household you are not his dependent.
You are Married Filing either Jointly or Separately. The best tax advantage is usually Married Filing Jointly.

Yes you are married and ssi don't effect your taxes.

Why wouldn't he when you file a joint return. You don't want MFS because you will probably pay more.
