I dated this guy for about a month and then weve split up. But he just recently told me that he loved me, how to I answer to that? Im not one that tosses that word around to losely. And I just like him, but I dont want to hurt his feelings.

Tell him thank you, but that love is a very strong word which usually works its way into a relationship. It's really hard to love someone for the short time you knew each other. A relationship has to grow and blossom in order for love to take the scene. But then again there is love at first sight. His is probably an empty feeling he's getting not being with you anymore and has been thinking of you and how great it would of been and probably has mentally taken this relationship father than it actually went. Let him down easy because in his mind and heart, his relationship with you continued.

Good luck !

Tell him you arent ready to say that and you dont throw the term around loosely. Better to be honest instead of trying to not hurt his feelings and lead him on.

Simple. Look him sincerely in the eyes and respond with, "Do you? Do you really love me?". That puts the pressure back on him and will get him to reconsidered his original "I love you". Then look really sad like he's hurting your feelings by telling you that he loves you.

"Awe that's sweet of you to say", should be your reply.

By the way, I love you!

I always used to say "I know you do" or "ok" and nothing else.
