Does getting your wisdom teeth out hurt more if they haven't started coming in yet?

I had all four of mine removed last Friday. One was already erupted and the other three were impacted and growing in horizontally.

I was put under GA and was given narcotic pain killers.

I only had one evening of pain - and the pain was so minimal, I was good on just Tylenol...

I did notice, though, that the tooth that had already been "grown in" hurts LESS than those that had to be cut out. But I think that's because the surgeon did not have to cut open my gums and dig around inside my jaw...

So, I'm thinking just getting them pulled is less painful than having them cut out. Just my opinion...

Chances are good that you won't feel a thing in any case, if the dentist follows standard procedure for removing teeth. Which includes using a very strong painkiller.

Yes, because they are still in the nerve......I had to get four removed because they NEVER came out. They stayed under the gums!......worse thing ever. But yeah yours are gonna hurt cuz they are going to have to drill, slice, pull and yank deeper. They might give you a list of stuff, I jsut took the laughing gas and numbing...... but you'll get more options. I wouldnt reccomend getting put to sleep.
