Flat Iron gets hot on the outside?

Hi,

i have recently bought a sedu from folica.com after I saw many good reviews and it wors pretty well. But the outside of the iron gets so hot so it burnes my hand every time I use it. Here are my questions:

1) Does CHI flat iron gets hot on outside, too?
2) Does GHD flat iron gets hot on the outside, too?
3) I used Potion 9 before using the iron and the end of my hairs are frizzy really bad, why?
4) What product should I use before using the iron?

Their not suppose to get hott unless on sides by the actuall plates which might mine did!!! lol I use this silk stuff in a pink bottle in the hair care isle it's for straight hair!! The end frizzies i know u dont want to hear is the hottness burning ur hair!!! Go to Sally's they hair Hair Mayonase I know EWWW but it works GOOD and leaves ur hair good as new!!! My freinds mom used it on me!!! I PROMISE!!

my sister has the same iron .. and people gave it really good reviews .. and the manufacturer also admitted that the outside gets pretty hot ... she used it on my hair which is chemical free and it work really well ... if the outside of the iron is the only thing you are worried about consider yourself lucky and just be careful while using it ... the products that i use in my hair you cant use in yours, so i cant help you out there
