It depends on how fast you walk. The streets are much closer together than the avenues in New York. Crossing 20 streets is one mile, in New York and five or six avenues to the mile. Walking east/west (crossing avenues) also goes slower because you're more likely to get caught by stoplights.

it isn't conventional, and there are favored neighborhoods. I once talked about Larry Bud Melman (now deceased) of the Letterman educate close to Columbus Circle, the position I have also considered a pair different actors. talked about Dustin Hoffman which includes his spouse in Greenwich Village. i have run into Mayor Bloomberg some cases, and Senator Schumer better cases than I look after. also a pair different politicos. bear in ideas, NYC has 8 million people, with per chance one thousand "prominent people". confirm the opportunities.

A mile is ten city blocks, which the average pedestrian covers in about 15 minutes (walking briskly.) So on average that walk should take about 7-8 minutes.
