The qualities that I look for in a potential mate are: someone who has a kind heart, intelligent, has his priorities straight, wants something out of life, and someone that can make me laugh. I also want him to be the kind of person that I enjoy being around and enjoy his company. The most important thing that I look for the most is honesty and trust. If he's honest with me, then he earned my trust.

For me, these are the most important qualities when looking for a potential mate:
A woman who doesn't care about a person's outward appearance (hair length or color, skin or eye color, a person's height or weight, the clothes they wear, so forth), but instead, knows what is most important, that being what the woman feels when they listen to their man's heart beating, so forth.
Someone who is honest when they make a mistake (e.g. being unfaithful) or saying something that they shouldn't have said.
A woman who is willing to listen to what I have to say, and likewise, I also listen to what she has to say (knowing that a relationship is like a two-way street and we have to be willing to listen to both sides of a story).

I'm going to be honest, so please don't get offended. Let me also say that the "spark" or "click" has to be there before these things are even looked at.
First thing I want in a man is MUSCLES! He can be a total lard butt, as long as he's got strong arms and chest.
Second thing I want in a man is Money. I need to know that he can provide for us should we become serious about marriage and family.
Third thing I want in a man is Maturity. This seems to be a big barrier, but as long as he's more mature than I am, I can respect him and that's what men really want from a woman.
