They would say that the prophecy is being fulfilled. The nuclear missiles would become the horses (the pale horse, etc.) The reprocussions of the fallout would be the plagues. The Beast would be the mushroom clouds.

The religion would continue to adapt...

A nuclear war between major power will put us in nuclear winter. Which would kill us of. It would be our end. A nuclear strike would indeed be a very sad day for us all. If it was terrorist against us. It would cause more hatred for Islam. I imagine there faith would be that of the Japanese during ww2. Any mass destruction makes people look for the supernatural. EX: ppl after 9/11 buying recorded number of Nostradamus books. If we strike Iran it wont be nuclear. If they Strike Israel. The US will be a super aggressive. Iran is a major supporter of terrorism in Lebanon. I think terrorism would decrease by 70% if Iran stopped its support.

So my point it depends who, where and what kinda strike.

It will never happen. Not on a global scale, anyway.
Anybody who tells you that the interpretation of the Bible is that the world will be destroyed by nuclear war or any of mans wars, is not Biblically literate - at all.
This earth age will end, but never the earth, the terafirma.
This earth was created by God to be inhabited forever, period.
Even satan himself doesn't want the earth destroyed along with all the people. Why? Because from the start, even before Adam and Eve came on the scene, satan wanted to be the one who was the Christ, the Son of God, and ruler forever and ever.
He wants worshippers, not dead corpses. So even satan would not permit such a thing. That you can take to the bank.

Well, depends on how many warheads are launched or nukes used, which will dictate how many actually survive the firestorms, fallout and post-fallout situations. Assuming there are relatively large pockets of people left, CHAOS will rule. Those survivalists that actually survive, with their stockpiles of weapons and food caches will be in power and a lot of them are right-wing Christian types, so I'll let you do the math on that one.

Generally chaos will rule. It will be those who have vs. the have nots. Religions will, for the MOST part take a backseat to sheer attempts to survive.

Conventional religion wouldn't emerge at all and neither would politics or our present sense of values. If it happened I think the survivors would live a communal existence that rejected religion and materialism in favour of working for the common good.

War and religion have always gone hand in hand. The people left would be told they had been saved by god. If theocratic states didn't arise, autocratic states with close ties to religions would arise.

End of times and revelation abound. I think they love GWB so much because they think the wars will trigger the return of Jesus.
