I just broke up with the first love of my life, and I am depressed! What can I do to keep him off my mind?

Well...for starters...don't answer any of his calls or e-mails. If he tries to get a hold of you...back away. Take down any pictures that you have of him and put away anything that reminds you of him...like gifts and such. You're basically going to have to "erase" the relationship and just store it in your memories or a box :)

Do you really want to ? I can't tell you what to do in that regard without it sounding callous or cold. Truth is, there are lots of websites, people and such that will try to help you vilify a former love to help forget that person. I recommend against this. If this is the first love of your love, there will be others. How we handle this first and crucial giving of our heart and mind is the foundation of all other such ventures into the unknown. Someone once wrote, "Remembrance is the heart of reconciliation". Apply that to your life and you will not regret it.

only time and distance will help, if it just happened it may take awhile. he will be on your mind for awhile.just takes time to figure things out and sometimes it just takes awhile. u will be depressed, when we loose someone we love it is almost like a death of the person, and also a way of life we knew. but there are going to be alot of breakups in your life, as u move toward finding the person u will marry. sometimes we just have to accept what life gives us, because theres a reason for it.

You will never get over a person,
if you truly loved him or her, but you should just cherish the memory of them,
remember the sad times he wont be the last man in your life,
just don't make the same mistakes. i would suggest you check out anyone you may be interested in and see how he treats his parents or his siblings because that is the way he will treat you when he is normal. good or bad.

Best thing to do..don't have anymore contact of any kind with him anymore, the end is the end, keep yourself very busy, go out with your friends! but time is what heals, meanwhile keep busy! the worse thing you can do is stay home and cry and feel depressed.

Do things you like, spend time with friends, take a class, learn self defense and even just cry. I'M going thru a divorce and have been with this man since 2001. I used to have a big crush on him and its hard. I would like to say it gets better.. but at some point. Just give it time sweetie. Good luck. Just remember one day at a time. :)
