Looks like that may be your water temperature indicator. In other words, you need to check your radiator if water is low and if it is, where is there a water leak. Example, the water pump going out, and releasing water from the radiator, causing the engine to run hot.

It's your screen washer water level. even if your bottle is full they do tend to be faulty! take the unit out an give it a clean and check the terminals. Or mail me via ebay Jeep Cherokee Spares UK

Its a diesel jeep isnt it?
Its likely the warning lamp that fluid has built up in your diesel filter. Just drain the filter as shown in your manula, two minutes job. Will solve the problem.
