Wait till you switch her to a toddler bed that way when she wakes she can come get you. And your mind will be at ease till then. Then again waiting till she is 18 may be a good idea, you could listen to all those late night teen age years phone calls!! LOL

I say stop using it when you feel like you want to. There isn't like a dead line on it or anything.
You will know when to stop using it, And if it gives you peace of mind about your child then I don't see why you can't stop using it. You are the parent and parents worry about there children alot. I know how you feel about it because I remember when I moved my son from the bassinet to the crib and I cried lol. It's rough as they get older because they move away from you more and more. So I don't see why if it makes you feel better about your daughter sleeping in a diffrent room to place a baby moniter in there so you can listen to her.
I am sure when You are ready for it to be gone and when she is ready for it to be gone then it will. Until then don't rush yourself on these things. Your the mom what else are you suppose to do lol? Don't feel so bad about it, But I would say at the age of 18 take it out before she goes to college...she might notice it still there during the move LOL ^.^ Until then...don't stress so much and you will know when you are ready to stop using it.
=)

If you won't be able to hear her if something is wrong a good time to stop would be when she's in a toddler bed and can come get you if something is wrong. We have stairs in our house at the moment so I am actually using one now even though she's a lil over 2 1/2 since there is a baby gate blocking her access to me. You don't need it on its highest setting though just make sure it's loud enough that if she started calling semi-loud you could hear.

I by no skill used a baby computer screen, via fact I stay in a one-point residing house, and ought to unquestionably hear the infant without computer screen if she grew to become into crying. If I lived in a 2-tale residing house and the infant slept upstairs, i might probable use one until eventually the infant grew to become into the right age to be potty knowledgeable and circulate to the bathing room by skill of herself in the midst of the night. this could ensue at any age from 2 to 4. I trust you that having a separate computer screen for a six-year-previous is distinctly astounding.

If she's two i'd consider loosing the crib & the monitor.
We put our crib matress on the floor for a while to smooth the transition, this way when she fell out of bed, it was only a few inches.

Just like many parenting dilemmas, you have to do what feels right for you and your family. Like you said, it won't harm her to wake up. It's also not harming her for you to have the monitor on. Do what makes you feel comfortable!

depends on how far her room is from yours!? I would think if there was a bad problem you would hear her! We stopped using ours at a year old. We are right down the hallway.

Mine's 21 months and we still use it, kinda the same circumstances you were describing. I use it specifically when we close her door so she can sleep.

There is no set age. You can stop whenever you want. I still use mine and my daughter is 22-months old.
