Just a way that a cat asserts dominance. That behavior will probably deminish after he gets neutered and the testosterone is out of the picture. All out male cats behavior changed (for the better) once they were fixed. Actually though, we had kitten siblings and even after they were fixed the one dominant kitten continued to do this to the female. I really can't answer why. He didn't do it to the other male kitten. And yes, she was fixed too. If after you get him fixed and he still does it and if it seems to be a problem for the female cat, you could just peg him with a squirt gun when he is not looking. That will probably deter him. Technically you want to discourage cats from biting at all. Our little black kitten get bit on the neck and the infection festered inside for a long time before an abcess developed. There were some signs that something was wrong before but even the vet didn't know what it was. When I took her in for the abcess and the vet shaved the hair away from it there was a visible tooth mark on it. I had her operated on to remove the puss and infected tissue, but because she was so ill she did die anyway from the infection. I am not saying it to scare you but just know that cat bites are not a good thing and should be discouraged.

It's probably due to JJ reaching sexual maturity and trying to mate with your other cat. Once he's 'fixed' this behaviour should stop however it could also be a domination thing. He's maybe trying to show that he's in charge by pinning the female cat down, if the female doesn't accept his dominance the behaviour may continue for a while until they 'sort it out'. I had a similar problem with my female cat not accepting another cat. They just hissed a lot for a while and it eventually stopped.

It's a domination thing, he's trying to establish that he is the alpha male. Getting him fixed might help, but not necessarily. I have a cat that still likes to get it on even though he's fixed. It's funny because I don't have a female cat, so he usually drags an old rag around.

Is this a playful bite or serious? If she's not complaining about it by defending herself it may be a loving/playing gesture. My 2 year old male cat will hold the dogs head still while he cleans him. If the dog tries to get up before the cat is done the cat will dig in it's claws to hold her in place.

That is how a cat mates. The male cat straddles the female and bites the back of her neck. It might help once you fix him, but he might also continue with the behavior. Mine did. The best thing, if he continues doing it is spray him with water from a spray bottle. That will deter him and train him out of it.

i have two cats both 2 years old (brother and sister) they have both been fixed since they were kittens. They both put their arms around each other and bite, sometimes it can look quite painfull, but they are only playing. They seem to be very good at winding each other up, one waits behind the cat flap while the other enters the catflap, then they pounce on each other. They love each other and are just having fun fun fun fun

it fairly is the reason our cats very own 'us' and not any incorrect way around. My kitty continually pats my arm or hand while she needs something. She won't supply up till I decide what it incredibly is she needs.. then she ignores me till she ought to be petted, fed, enjoyed, or needs me to do something for her back: like turn the sink on, open the door, sparkling the clutter, supply her a take care of, open the mini blinds, watch her consume this computer virus *ew!*.. Spoiled lil kitties. Mrs. B

Actually JJ is a vampire cat. There are very few numbers of vampire cats alive in this world. JJ inserts his fangs deeply into Coco's neck and drink her blood to satisfy his bloody desire. I'm sorry, but Coco will turn into a vampire cat too. Make sure they will not bite your neck, you'll turn into one if they bite your neck.

Pk so I just got my cats back from getting fixed like a week aog, for the same reasons. It did help to a point, but most of te time they are playing. but if you do catch them hurting one other its best if you separate them for a few days. Well thats what the vet told me.
good luck.
