Yes it can but theres alot of products out there that can help with the appearance...Avon makes a stretch mark reducing cream, i like Neutrogena Skin firming lotion and most people I know have said that when preggers you should use coca butter lotion daily to help prevent stretch marks..i even knew a friend that seen moderate results from using the mederma scar treatments that are ment for regular scars but she swears it helped reduce the appearance of her stretch marks....also stay hydrated (drink lots of water) and moisturized in general to keep a good overall healthy skin appearance.

Yes they can appear after weight loss, but this is usually associated with people who have lost a considerable amount of weight.

The amount of stretching that appears varies with individuals, but generally age can be a factor, plus it depends greatly on the elasticity and health of your skin at the time, and how quickly the loss occurs.

A small amount of weight loss may leave you with few or no marks, but larger amounts of loss also mean more skin was originally stretched to accommodate the fat/weight, so the opportunity for the skin to stretch, and for you to get those marks, increases.

Again, speaking generally, a slow loss of weight is more likely to minimize the effects than a quick loss, because the skin can shrink slowly as the weight goes down, while a really rapid loss is most likely to make them noticeable.

yes they can appear. skin loses its elasticity during losses and gains in weight. these can appear as stretch marks. without any treatment they are expected to vanish within 1-1 1/2 years. with treatment faster generally 6-8 months.
