Pray directly to God. Sometimes the answer is delayed because may be your prayer is insignificant or the outcome will be harmful to you. God knows everything and have the ability to foreseeing the future of His creations. He know the past, present and future, sometimes there will be something good for you by delaying the answer. Even the patience, waiting for the answer will be rewarded.

While it doesn't always seem like it, our prayers are always heard and answered by God. Sometimes we are looking for a specific answer, so much so that when God answers our prayer in a different way, we miss it. Or the answer is "No". As much as we don't want to have that answer, sometimes that is the case. God works on a much bigger plan than we do. We see only our 70-80 years here on earth, while he sees billions of years in the past and future.

Namaste!
Sometimes our prayers are wrong... or have an interior prayer that is wrong.
Sometimes it takes time for the answers to come to us. It is necessary to be patient and devoted.... and then the answers come in the Lord's time ... there is a saying, "Until the Lord is ready, what can a man do?"

Sometimes it is because we are praying for things with our lips and not with our hearts. We are not praying from deep inside us, as Hannah did when she prayed with all her heart for a child.
At other times our prayers are indeed answered, but because we are insisting on the immediate answer "yes", we fail to see the true answer of God, which may well be "no" (because He knows it's not the best thing for us, despite what we may suppose) or "not yet", because the time is not yet right for Him to grant our request. Notice how attuned Jesus was to this perfect timing.
So don't give up on praying. Remember that there are other answers than "yes" and that God knows best.

Sure but I've learned to that God does know best and because He sees all and knows all and is working His best into our lives, we CAN trust Him.
But He is mysterious. There have been times when He doesn't grant me a request and I'm surprised by it and other times where the opposite is true. We can't put Him in a box and He is NOT a Spiritual vending machine. He is free to choose what He'll do - just like we are.
He wants us to keep on asking and talking with Him even when we don't get what we want or understand what He's doing. He wants a real relationship with us that's deeper than just giving us what we desire all the time. He wants to hear about our day, how we're feeling, what's going on, etc. And He wants us to be still and listen to His still small voice to hear what He has to say. He has many wonderful things to show us!!

But sometimes our prayers aren't answered right away because the lord maynot be there when you call but he is always on time. What is for you will be.

How many deities are you praying to at a time? Try to address as many as possible in every prayer, so everyone has a chance to answer. Make sure you're all paid up on your tithes and sacrifices, too. Gods don't work for free. And it never hurts to slip in a little something extra - sacrifice a beer to Thor, or add in a few kind words for Bast. They dig that sort of thing.

Well, you may think you know what you need. In fact, God has the bigger picture. I've heard it put this way before:
If a 1year old child asked for a rattlesnake, would you give it to him? Not if you want him to stay alive, you won't.
Well, its kinda like that with your Heavenly Father.
Other thoughts on this subject are that it may just not be the right time for it now; like I said, God has the bigger picture, so be patient and know He is in control. Also, He may not grant your prayer request because perhaps it would cause harm or problems to another of His children. Don't forget, theres lots of us, and something granted to you, may have a devastating affect on someone else.

I haven't wondered why. I'm an atheist. I know why.
In point of fact, your prayers are almost never "answered".
In fact, it's the first proof of the nonexistence of gods listed on www.godisimaginary.com There's a flash video there, or you can just read the text.
