Turn and run - fast! My name's Hunt, not soap!

2007-01-31 04:19:48 · answer #1 · answered by Dover Soles 6 · 3 0

my trainer discussed this with me at great length the other night and the thing he advised me to do was run away.
if running away is not an option he told me to forget any of my moves until after me first one or two blows have been landed.
he advised me to attack anyone no matter what height they are with a good quick double kick to the shins. he reckons this area is the easiest to hit and it hunts like hell.you ever got kicked on the shins while playing football you'll know what i mean! this gives you another few options.
1- run away (he strongly advised this course of action)
2- if your still traped but your opponent is stunned he reckons a good old fashioned back hand strike to the temple should get you out of there.
3- if your opponent isn't really stunned by your attacks then you have to give him everything you've got because your in a very dangerous situation. if you have the room a good hard side kick to the chest area might get you out of it.
good luck !!

Hi there

Common sense here I'm afraid. First thing is to chuck the ego in the bin! Doesn't matter how good you are nature always wins and has done for millions of years. If the guys a big dude and you have doubts that you can win do what the police do. Call for back up!

left to the nose, a punch there will leave you blind for about 6 seconds, then run, its not cowardice, its common sense, my instructor always tells us a story, there was a chicken and a duck, one day the duck says to the chicken,
"what will you do next time the fox comes?" so the chicken says,
"i shall fly away" the duck laughed and called him a coward, then began bragging about his moves, when the fox came behind him, he got eaten, but the chicken had flown away.
as a 14 year old 5"0 female, i started freestyle karate 4 years ago to develop confidence and learn how to protect myself i would not hesitate to defend myself, or others, but i would not initiate the conflict or be naive enough to think i could take on a man with a gun or knife, i could handle the situation, but no one is stupid enough to hang around and fight if there is a way to safely get away, thats just deluded

First move is reconciliation.

Second move is retreat.

Third move is to use the martial arts weapon that I always carry
with me -- my cane. My weapon of preference is an "L" cane
(as opposed to a "J" cane.)

A walking stick or cane gives you more range than an unarmed
opponant and concentrates the energy when you strike with the
tip. The handle also provides a tool for hooking, breaking and
tripping.

When using a cane, my first target is always the opponant's
HANDS. Smaller bones, more pain recepticles and the
opponant can not attack very well if his/her hands are broken.

For more information on the Cane as a weapon see:

Keep slamming punches and kicks into any points on his body you can get, preferable down the centre line i.e. nose, chin, throat, abdomen, testes, etc. Go wild we are not talking points in a refereed match this is the real thing forget style and go for animal crazy wild and fast. Most importantly this is 'only' as a last resort!

> Fighting about something stupid: Don't let the fight begin.
> Fighting to save your life: Blow out a knee with a low kick. Typical western street fighters anticipate punches or head blows. Go low instead; use your kicks.

Or just take BJJ.

if possible the best thing you can do is run, never feel you are weak by running away its the best form of self defence, if its unavoidable i would use a distraction technique which would put the guy on his knees given u the opportunity to run (not kick his face in lol). i would probably strike him in the groin and drop him to the floor if not down already then run.

I'd put my hands up in a non threatening manner (preparing myself for a strike, if he tries to swing on me), if he does swing on me, I'd let him swing on me and then go for a groin strike when I evade his punch, and it misses me.

second, while he's hunched over clutching his cherries, I'll give him a swift knee strike to the face right between the eyes, and walk away. If I feel like it or my opponent wants to keep comin back for more, I'll start breaking limbs.

anything goes in a fight, so I don't worry about formalities or stances.

Pray. One man I heard of, (a Christian ) was out numbered and about to be mugged when he said" If you mess with me you will have to deal with my three friends ," meaning the FATHER, SON and HOLY GHOST. His would be muggers became confused and walked away. I guess seeing no one else with him they thought he was nuts. If you choose to deal with this without GOD"S help then try this. Smile. My brother was trained as a Green Beret, A smile often confuses an opponent. Warning, if you show fear ,that's exactly what he's looking for. That's his signal to go ahead. Getting into a position is good. It says," Ok, you want to push me around? Well don't expect me to make easy for you." After returning from Viet Nam and exitting the military I grew my hair long again and twice I had been approached and threatened by two guys in uniform telling me they where going to give me a hair cut. when I took the position one said to the other,"I think it would be best if we left him alone," and walked away. A very good decision not knowing that I had recently returned with killing experience.

well being a martial artist i cant say unless you tell me in 5000 words or more the whole situation?if you want it from the fighter side i would have seen it coming before he picked a fight with me and i would've attacked him and beat the f..k out of him before he had a chance.a broken knee, gonads or collarbone brings everyone down to my size no matter how big they are.the bigger they are the harder they fall, but the main thing to remember is the harder they hit to?
