In the same way that some people go out and get drunk?
Obviously it is against the law but I mean in a sense of doing it while keeping control of your life.
Like only taking drugs socially once every fortnight is not going to get you addicted to them in the same way that getting drunk occasionally does not turn you into an alcoholic.

Other than the legality part of it -- I think it depends on the drug. If you're going out and smoking a little weed or popping pain pills every great once in a while I don't see much of a problem with that. If you're getting into more hard core drugs such as heroin or cocaine I think it's too risky -- the chances of addiction are too high. As long as you have control of your life I don't think it's anyone's business what you do in your free time. When drugs or alcohol begin affecting your family, your job, your finances, or your well being it's time to admit you have a problem.

I'm sorry, but if you are asking this question because you 'need an answer' that will 'justify your drug use' then the answer is NO, it is NOT OK to go out and take drugs once every couple of weeks. And I'm sorry, but when a person goes out and gets drunk 'occasionally' but stays sober 'in between' could be a 'binge alcoholic' ... a person who can 'stay away from alcohol' for long periods, but who gets DRUNK every time they take that 'first drink' ... and it is that same thing that can happen with taking drugs ...

Gout is a condition where uric acid crystals build up in the body.
This can happen in the area of the big toe and cause a lot of pain.
Our foods contain purines; some foods are higher in this than others.
The doctor may place you on a lower purine diet (of which they will usually provide you a list of foods to avoid. There is also medications that can lower the uric acid in the blood
Here an alternative way to cure gout?

Good point, but the question to ask yourself is, why? Do you need drugs to escape reality, is life really the unsatisfying that you need a way out? I would also argue that there is difference between a social drink, & a joint. I often here drug users defend their use. If you don't think it's wrong, why do you need to excuse it? I aslo think you need a strong moral centre to say no or quit especially today, as 80% or more in my age group (18-25) that I know of, use or have heavily used drugs.

The word "drugs" is a very generic term, but many "harder" drugs have chemical agents which create the addiction. Spreading drug use out over the course of several weeks is still dangerous behavior that very easily can lead to addiction and other problems.

Keep in mind that everyone that suffers from drug problems starts out casual and in control- because at first, they are in control. The problem is, over the course of time, they lose sight of the line between what they can do while still maintaining control and what they can't.

One should stay as far away from that risky territory as possible. Life is worth far too much to toy with it in such ways.

I go to 5 meetings, three nights a week. I go as often as I can and when I can't I listen to the meetings by phone. In addition to these meetings, There are special meetings I go to each year: Assemblies(Special and Circuit), the Circuit Assembly lasts 2 days and a Convention(District), which lasts 3 days and where new literature is released-a very exciting event for us.

Some drugs are much more addictive than alcohol, and do more damage in small amounts. You'd be taking a ridiculous risk.

I guess this really depends on the drugs you are taking. I personally think it may be acceptable in a sense that the drugs you take are not just horrible for your health.(e.g.methamphetamines) And as long as you don't get in trouble or let it affect your professional and family life! I will support it!

Depends on the drug. If you're talking about Crack or heroin, no. Because once and you're done, you're addicted.

If you're talking about smoking a joint, no problem. Less addictive and less invasive then alcohol.

It's best to avoid drugs period. And drinking socially CAN lead to alchohalism, it always starts socially, always, next thing you know you're hooked, stay off the stuff, trust me.
