Indeed it's the Republic of Ireland. The next part of the number shows where in Ireland it came from - ie if it's 0035349 then it's likely to be County Cavan, if it's 0035386 then it's likely to be an Irish mobile!

I might be behind the times, but I've yet to see a mobile number here start with "047". It's more likely to be 0407, 0417, 0427, or 0437. If you don't have 10 digits, something's definitely wrong.

start with double zero 00
then followed by the australian international code which is 61
then your bro's number deleting the zero before his mobile...say if he's number is 012345
do this: 006112345
