What is with this desire to fill life with fairy tales and fictions? Why not learn how clouds, planetary systems or even galaxies form? Why not study how 1.8 meters of DNA is packed into the nucleus of a single human cell? Life and the universe are extremely cool!

Why settle for god did it in seven days when the real deal is so much more exciting? Survival and adaptation, mass extinctions, climate changes, over a million different species competing to survive and adapting to fill every environ on the planet.

Why do people choose escapism? Why escape into the realm of fantasy stories about life after death when life in and of itself is (or at least should be) more than enough?

I don’t get it.

Question 2: Am I ranting?

I’ve audited three full semesters of theology at a Christian seminary. I’ve read the Bible cover to cover more than once. I’ve seen what you have to offer and it is a sham compared to reality

I verified a creator? Your reasoning baffles me.

I agree with you. The problem is that many children are not taught science, they have no idea how wonderful the universe we live in is. Instead they are read bible stories when they are young and told that it is the absolute truth. It colors their perception of the world. Mythology in and of itself isn't bad and can be an insight into the way people long ago saw the world, and can be enjoyable to read (just like a good Sci-Fi novel is). There is a huge danger in taking mythology as literal fact, too often people do that.

Life may be even larger than you think it is. Consider the possibility that what mystics, visionaries, artists, and madmen are groping after is something larger, not smaller, than the universe of physical observation you're talking about. Why not have it all? Why not have wonder and exploration of the world around us, AND the world within us? When you examine that outer world deeply enough, it brings you to questions exactly like those asked by philosophers and shamans since the dawn of human history. What is space? Time? Matter? Mind? What are universals, and where do they exist? What is knowledge? Considering these questions isn't escapism; they're pressed on us *by* our investigation and observation of the world, not *in spite* of it.

Be broad, my friend, be broad; exclude nothing from your quest, not even angels and demons.

God is life' and, all life comes from him. Did you ever study where DNA originated? Did you ever study where the nucleus of a single human cell originated? When you can give me a clear answer to my questions I may consider your view point. The answer that things just "are" doesn't cut it for me. The tiniest atom had to come from somewhere.

No, you don't get it, you yourself just verified that the universe was created and not just happened out of the Nothingness by stating 1.8 meters of DNA is packed into the nucleus of a single cell. amazing isn't it.

You do not get it because you are not capable of getting it.
You can obtain a Doctoraite in Biblical Theology, memorize the Bible cover to cover and still not understand it because you do not believe.

1Cr 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.

because why settle for this when it is just temporary home? If this is all there is then I feal VERY sorry for all the poor children who die at a young age, or peope who live their entire life on this road to eternity in poverty and discomfort. Humans have ALWAYS believed there is something more, every civilasation in the world has had one type of religion or another. That is the only thing every nation in history agrees on, that there is more to it than just this corruptable world.

Yep...you are ranting...but that is fine. Curiosity is the mother of knowledge. Yes...the scientific facts are so awesome...when you think of all of the things going on that you can't see...like photosynthesis and cell division and growth itself. You cannot see the wind, but you know it is there! You cannot see the DNA with your naked eye, but you trust that it is there! Science is SO awesome and wonderful. i wonder how anyone with a knowledge of the complexities of the sciences can STILL think that there is no God! God is at the center of all the awesome wonder! i look forward to meeting Him someday.
Am i preaching? ;)

That's good for you--if you are into science--as long as you know who the greatest scientist is and how He formed all those things and brought them about so you could study them. Maybe He created you just for that reason--to study His creations and be a voice for His kingdom. There are alot of Christian scientists who refer to God's Word to explain the wonders of God's creations.

You are ranting but the rant is outstanding, I agreee, real life is far more exciting than making up fairy tales.

The only difference is there is no BIG reward for it and there is that promise in religion.

That the promise is no more real than their god escapes them.

More Than Life Itself lyrics

You never said you were perfect,
but you always were to me.
Loving you was always worth it,
cause You see so much in me.
And when I'm down,
you're there to lift me.

You come around,
when I need a friend.
And no one loved me like you do,
Unconditional and true.
You're the shoulder that I've always known
And the hand that says I'm not alone
More than myself,
I love you more than life itself!

Did u know that I get lonely?
at the thought of you not being here.
Can you see that you're the only,
one who never disappears?
And when I fear you are the comfort
The one who steers me to the light.
And no one loves me like you do.
Unconditional and true.
You're the shoulder that I've always known
and the hand that says I'm not alone.
More than myself,
I love you more than life itself.

I love you! I love you! I love you!
And I dont care if it sounds trite.
I'll say it over and over
It makes me feel alive
you give me all my fire
by Watching what you live
by what you believe
so many things you taught me
and even when you caught me
I always knew that you could still see the best in me
the best in me
No one loved me like you do
unconditional and true
You're the shoulder that I've always known
and the hand that says I'm not alone

I love you more than life itself
I love you more than life itself
I love you more than life itself
I love you more than life itself
More than you know
More than you know
I love you more than life itself!

Question 1) It's easier to just allow a god to take credit for everything and not "waste" energy thinking or learning.

Question 2) Yes, but I don't mind.
