tattooed on the back of my neck. I want something that stands for hope/belief/love/protection (or a mixture of them all!!) I have narrowed it down to the left eye of horus, the om mani padme hum mantra or an african symbol meaning 'love never loses it's way home'. Does anyone else have any ideas or an opinion on which one I should get?

Do you actually believe in any of the faiths from which you are thinking of taking a symbol. Isn't it rather shallow and meaningless to decorate your body with something just because you like the look and translation, rather than because you have some deep faith or belief - I think it is rather disrespectful to the faith from which you take the symbol. I also think tattoos are tacky. Not the answer you wanted I know, but that's my opinion and you did ask - so, don't get any of them. Decorate your soul, not your skin, with care and good acts.

I would get the eye of horus. I have a trinity symbol. It means The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. I'm Catholic though.

The circle of Chi is good. The symbol of Tao. The Africans have the Ubuntu which means "Humanity to others." Infinti is a good one.
∞ That is infinity

Religious belief is that we treat our bodies like temple. That includes no decoration of any kind. The answer I would give would not to have one at all and treat your body like the temple it is

Do not get any. Why do you want to show off your belief? This is exactly what got us to this point. Keep your faith to yourself and close to your heart, but do not mutilate your body to show it off-
