I have noticed that depending on what I eat during the day has alot to do with how thirsty I become later. The more that I eat the more dehydrated I feel later on that day. Could it possibly be my body asking for water so it can help get rid of toxins?

Absolutely! In particular, I read recently in a nutrition book that using excess protein for energy requires the body to get rid of excess nitrogen in the form of ammonia through your urine. So don't overdo it on the protein! It's a good idea to drink plenty of water anyway. You can overdo it on the water too, but that is more difficult to do comfortably. Have a nice day!

A lot of it is going to have to do with the sodium (salt) content of the foods you eat. Eating a lot of salty foods will make you thirstier. It's probably not toxins, but instead sodium (which is a necessary nutrient but can be toxic if you have too much of it) or other electrolytes in your body. Just make sure you're eating a well balanced diet and drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day and you should be fine. If you're thirsty you're already not drinking enough water. You should be drinking enough so that you never get thirsty.

It depends on how much sodium is in the foods you eat as to how thirsty you are afterwards.
