Apples contain Vitamin C and antioxidant compounds that may prevent cancer. But best of all they help with heart disease, cholesterol, and controlling weight loss. They're basically a better "snack" to have as opposed to a bag of chips or some other junk food. They have vitamins and this overall helps the body's immune stystem which may keep the doctor away for some things.

No, hehe, that saying is just to encourage people to eat healthy. As you can image eating an apple is much better for you then eating a nice greasy hamburger from Wendy's. Anyways, apples are a good source of fiber which help with digestion and is a complex sugar, so it won't shoot your Blood Sugar up as fast as things like pastas. But healthing eating will help keep you away from the doctor or at least not as often!

Not if you're eating half a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts daily together with that apple. I don't know where that saying came from, but there's probably very little truth in it. Apples are healthy, of course, but I don't need to tell you that. They contain fiber and other nutrients which can contribute to optimal health -- but do not necessarily guarantee that you won't get sick enough to have to visit the doctor.

1. I don't think things like cancer are cured by apples so no. And in todays world, the doctor only comes round your house if you are so ill you cannot walk, and an apple wouldn't cure a disease as crippling as that, so no.

2. Unless you jammed it in the heart of the TARDIS. Teehee.

I know that green apples are a really good source of malic acid. But they're way too tart for me. And I don't really know why we'd need any kind of acid.

Nope! But, it is good for your teeth! If you have to eat and can't brush your teeth, eat an apple because it cleans out the junk between your teeth.
