So far the forecast says 60% chance of rain first two days of our vacation. Does anyone know the forecast for FEb 7-11 ??? When it does rain in Maui how long does it last ???

Ok -- first off.. whenever you go to a tropical destination there is always a chance of rain. I remember when I went to Jamaica every day said a 50% chance of rain but it only rained 2 times for like 3 mins each...

Second, In Hawaii...especially Maui you can have it raining and cloudy in one spot and 10 mins down the road it can be sunny. And even if it does rain it wont last long.

In Maui, the sunniest weather is on the west or southern side of the Island. The Southwestern shore near kihei or in the Lahaina area generally experience little rainfall. And when it does rain, expect about 20 mins of it and then the sun to come back out.

bottom line- Don't worry there will certainly be sunny points during your trip.

We always listen to the local radio stations. Some are streaming on the internet. Callers usually tell you where the sun is shining and the surf report is good to know. When we stayed for a month the rain was usually in the Hana area and the Kihei (dry side)region stayed sunny most of the time. It doesn't rain all day (passing squalls) and when it does you can still be outside, just wear a Gortex shell and shorts. Who cares if your legs get wet. Buy some $3 slippas at Longs and you won't stick out as a tourist. The average temp is 72-75 even when it rains. It's refreshing and you will see rainbows and the flowers give off perfume on the trails. Get the Maui Trailblazer guidebook. It gave us all kinds of good advice. Read the Maui Weekly for things going on. Hope this helps. As they say there A hui ho!

The weather changes in Maui all the time, but for the most part the average tempt. is 80 duing the day, and high 60's at night in the winter. If you are staying on the west side, Kaanapali area, you will not get that much rain if it is raining. If you are in Kahana, Kapalua, Napili Bay, area's they get more rain. The Kihei side get's very little rain if you are staying there, but Hana get's plenty of rain. We have over 120micro climates here in Maui so the weather will be different depending where you are staying. Lahaina, is probably the driest area in Maui, with very little rain, unless we have a full blown storm, but all in all it is a warm rain, certainly not cold. Aloha...............
