And what does it mean if you do?

People have to understand that you can support the troops and not want them to be in Iraq. I strongly support the troops but I want them home. They are being misused and dying for no reason. If someone wants them to stop dying and come home, that is an example of strongly supporting them.

For those of you non-military types that say "they took an oath...", the people in the military took an oath to defend our country and our constitution, not to die while helping the Iraqis form a new government.

I support them by not protesting against them or their cause. I thank them when I can, and stick up for them when they can't because they are not around.

And I will be joining with in the next year as well.

To the person above: You don't think the Middle East is a serious threat to this country? What do you think will happen if we lose this war? Or we just leave? Insurgents will take over Iraq and the little freedoms those people have will be taken away, and then Iran will have complete control of the region. Yes, Iran. Iran is the same country that is run by a man who says he wants to end Zionism and wipe Israel off the face of the Earth, and also said the Holocaust never happened.

This war is a lot more important than you realize.

I don't have to agree with the reasons that troops are deployed in order to support them. However, support can mean so many things...I would have to say that I support the troops as people (and greatly appreciate them and respect their choice to serve); I support efforts by citizens to send the troops essential items that the military does not provide (and that list of items is quite huge; our church's youth group just sent over 700 pounds of necessities to the troops in Iraq).

I wholeheartedly support our troops. Lots of my friends are in the Armed forces and they suffer at the hands of the morons who don't agree with the war, It is not the troops fault. And as for the idiots who think that when off duty the soldiers sailors etc turn into mindless thugs, the only time I have ever seen one lose their rag was when they were so tormented an angel would have lost their wings!! I have never seen a member of the Armed forces 'glass' anyone. These guys and girls risk their lives for us everyday, have some respect! God Bless them all.xx

Yep, 100%. It's the politicians I don't support.

They use our troops like pieces on a chess board and don't think about their well being. Who sends men off to fight with insufficient equipment, missing body armour and olive drab green uniforms in a desert.

Good camouflage that, isn't it.

Yep the troops do a very professional job and need more money for the dangerous job they do.

I support our troops. The have one of the toughest jobs in the world. They see their buddies dying, they are kept from their loved ones, and they are trying to keep the world safe. I admire the men and women in the armed forces. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be able to have most of the things that we have today. Some the things that we take for granted on a daily basis (freedom of speech amongst other things), would not have been a reality without troops fighting for this country.

I support our troops, whether there are stationed out of the country or somewhere in the country. They are there to defind our freedom. If you support your troops then it means you are proud to be an american and proud of what others are doing for you. It's the hardest thing in the world to say goodbye to a loved one being deployed, knowing you may never see them again, or it may be many months without seeing them.

The "i support our troops but i dont support the war" slogan that i have heard people chirping about since the huge propaganda campaign in the tabloids pre Afghanistan makes my stomach churn.

Think about what you are saying - this is classic Orwellian double think. Your minds have been manipulated to the extent that you believe black is white and white is black.

I dont support the War, thus I can't support our troops. How can i support people killing in a war i disapprove of?

If there was a war that was justified and posed a serious threat to this country then i would fight with them, let alone support them. But there isn't and i don't.

Yes I support our troops. I think they should be there, although I also think it is about time for the Iraquis to start doing something besides expecting U.S. to stay and protect them forever. For anyone who wants to blame the troops for killing or fighting in the war..the millitary have to do what they told to do.

I support our troops and so should we all, they are just doing as they are told and so they need our support. I completely do not support the "war(s)" at the moment but that is the fault of our governments, not the troops.
