Roast Beef with cheddar cheese, tomatos, lettuce, onions, pickles, a little spicy mustard and salt and pepper on a hoagie.
My favorite! If you aren't going to eat it all as one meal then I suggest a couple of Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on wheat.....they will last longer.

Well first of all it can't be anything with a strong smell or it will drive you crazy and infect whatever you are carrying it in. I think a delicious sandwich would be a dark rye bread, because it holds up better than white bread (or actually, maybe a baguette) and then maybe some apple & fig jam, with cheddar cheese. Maybe some rocket if you wanted.

But if you want a really substantial sandwich, you could try making a sort of double decker one. Remember to butter the bread right to the edges or it will go soggy! What about one piece of white bread, then butter, chicken (grilled) & mustard, then dark bread, then a sharp cheese and possibly tomato?, then on top with another piece of white bread some grapes & rocket?

Any cold sandwich can be taken with you. I would leave out any dressings you would want and put them on just before you eat it.Mayonnaise is different. when making your sandwich, coat the insides of your bread with mayo which will keep your bread from getting moist (like a insulator) make sure lettuce is dry and probably stay away from wipe tomatoes, use a firmer one

A nice granary baguette filled with Roast beef, thinly sliced red onion and a smothering of horseradish. When it comes to eating, you need a bag of Ready Salted crisps to wedge in it for some crunch!
All sandwiches should have crisps in them, and the flavour should compliment the filling!
