It would be good to qualify that not all guys disappear. That said, there would be two reasons, either 1) He only said it to get into your pants. He conquered, now he's on to the next conquest. or 2) He does love you and just needs a little time away. Guys go through a normal and natural cycle of intimacy then autonomy. Wait, and if he loves you, he'll be back. If not, let him go, he wasn't yours.

Guys don't disappear after they say they love you. The woman does. When a guy says he loves you his guard with you is completely down. Women sense that, and in return they quit being as sweet to the guy. They do this because they figure the little things that did go unnoticed before the "I love you," will not go unnoticed anymore. It is called a "leash." And women think they have it once the guy puts his guard down.

Because he may have been coerced into saying those words. Guys only say "I love you" to sleep with a woman or because he doesn't want to disappoint a woman he really really likes. Then once he says it, he knows he's lied on some level and he bails rather then live the lie which will eventually come out.

There is a variety of answers. But, I think the real truth lies somewhere in issues these guys have with true intimacy. They may have problems (past and present) with relationships with women. This leads to feelings of insecurity in them (this may never be satisfied in their lives without therapy) and a need to feel they can control a woman. They may say "I love you" to a lady to get them to be romantic with them to satisfy unmet needs for approval and intimacy in their own lives. Once they believe they have it from you, they move on to another female just for the sake of pursuing additional approval and because they cannot handle what they may have had with you. Hope this helps!

It's because most guys are afraid of commitment and saying "I Love You" means that they reached that next stage in the relationship. By the time the guy realizes what he just said he freaks out and backs out. Quite pathetic if you ask me.

Guys say this because they know this is the only why they can get you to sleep with them. When girls hear this they say he won't do anything to that i don't won't because he loves not true and then he gets what he wants and is bout his business.
