Absolutely normal, LOL, don't worry, unfortunately it is part of growing up. He is not getting it from anywhere but natural instinct. They will come to blows many times over the next few years. I am sorry you will have to add referee to your list of parental duties and the many hats you will have to wear as they grow and thrive. I'm just off to put my taxi hat on.

Hitting is normal in children. Their verbal skills are not usually very good at one year, so 'getting physical' is the best way to communicate, for them, whether positive (hugs, kisses, clapping hands, etc) or negative (hitting, flinging arms and legs, stomping in a tantrum, or just throwing themselves on the ground).

The best way to help your son learn not to hit is to gently stop him (if you are in the room), or come in and take his wrist if you were out of the room, and tell him 'No hitting.' Then distract him with a game or toy. If he continues to hit soon after you tell him 'no hitting' and attempts to distract him are useless, a time out of a few minutes (no more than 2 for a one year-old) in his crib or another isolated place will tell him that if he can't play without hitting, he won't get to play at all.

Yes it is normal. he is learning that i can hit my sister, she cries and then theres mommy! To him it is a fun game, a way to get your attention. You need to teach him hitting is not nice, and it hurts. Try taking her with you or moving her away from him when you walk out of the room. Kids do stuff for attention rather than just being mean, he is feeding off of negative attention, tell him NO NO HITTING. when you catch him being nice to her use allot of positive praise. GOOD BOY NICE BOY etc.

Sibling rivalry is normal, twins or not.
Do you try to interfere when he hits her, or whenever there is a conflict between them? If so, you may need to take a step back.
As difficult as it is as a parent not to step in between when siblings fight or argue, at times they need to solve their own issues.
If your Son hits his sister whenever you leave the room, it may be a way to gain Mom's attention, knowing you'll come running to see why one or the other is crying.
As difficult as it may be, try sitting a couple out, see how your daughter learns to defend herself and make your son realize mom won't always come running to solve an incident and give attention.

It is very normal! Kids learn things in the darnest places! Just keep reminding him that it is wrong and hold his hands down when he does it. Hopefully, it is only phase. However, when they get older...this phase reappears out of sibling rivalry.

Maybe its an influence from what he sees like violence on tv or violence at home but you need to explain to your son that hitting is wrong and hitting his siblings is wrong. and he shouldnt do it again. and he can grow up to be abusive if he keeps it up at this rate.

it's normal for him to hit. Our Pediatrician said you just have to reinforce that it's a bad thing to do and not tolerate it.
