Two boys, they helped immensely, the surgery was approx 3 hours for both boys, all together. The one boy came out of anesthetic fine, the other threw up but then was fine. Very little discomfort afterwards and the tubes were inserted only once and fell out on their own approx 2 years later with no reoccurrence of infections afterwards

I'd personally recommend this for a child suffering from persistent ear infections for which antibiotics are not working.

Good luck

two of my children had to have tubes put in their ears before they were 1 and they help tremendously,,they put them under for a few minutes and then they are done, its not painful and from my experience with my kids they havent gotten any more ear infections they are now 8 and almost 3 so yes i think they are a wonderful thing to have. and they dont have to have them reinserted after they fall out

I had them when I was 7, and they helped SO much!
I know it's scary to have your young child go for surgery, but it isn't as scary as seeing them ill for years!

I did have my gromits re-inserted, but that was only because I had a severe blow to the head which dislodged them.

Your baby will be okay, don't worry about this, since it is a veery common procedure and done every day by the doctors.
I know I was older when I had my operations, but the anaestesia and surgeries were a breeze, after all, I was asleep!

My youngest son had them put in twice. The doctor said that when he hears something, it is like being under water. He heard alot better after the tubes were put in. Good Luck.
