This is not nearly as clever a critique of science as the postmodernists think that it is.

As a scientist, I learn about myself by studying the results of research on human beings. I don't have to study myself at every moment in everything that I study in order to learn about myself. The postmodernist critique would only work if that were the case, and it obviously isn't.

By exploring himself through whatever means he chooses outside of his work as a scientist.
