I just find it fascinating... people drawing usually with chalks on the pavement in towns. I had a huge drawing of a hole, and people climbing out of it in our town about, 2 weeks ago. It looked so real! Does anyone here do any sort of art like that?

If you're in the UK there are usually pavement artists outside the National Portrait Gallery in Trafalgar Square, and some of them are amazing too. You can even have your portrait done!
Or, a little further afield, the Horniman Museum in Forest Hill, SE London exhibits native American sand painting, actually in sand on the floor.

Chalk drawings from Julian Beever. "Julian Beever is an English artist who's famous for his art on the pavement of England, France, Germany, USA, Australia and Belgium. Beever gives to his drawings an amazing 3D illusion."

I've tried myself to do such work. I've discovered that you need ALOT of chalk to get such harsh contrast and a good cushion, because sitting on the pavement for 6 hours HURTS! My work ended up looking more like a pastel impressionist painting than a realistic trick of the eye. It doesn't help to be subtle with those works, you gotta exaggerate the tones and such. I guess it just takes a lot of practice and a good eye.
