I believe in the war in Iraq because I have been there and have seen what 30 plus years of Saddam Hussein has done to those people. I made friends with Iraqis and want to see them have a better life than what they had. I would have no problem with being sent back to fight again. Does this answer your question?

I've been a reluctant supporter from the start. I recall talks with my family when the invasion kicked off that I thought we were going in too soon with inadequate resources. The overall idea isn't bad. A democratic Iraq with security and political say for each of the ethnic/religious groups could be a powerful force in the region. The execution has been a bit hard to swallow, but as usual the wrong troops in the wrong job are performing better than one could expect, and may yet win this thing despite the National Command Authority.

I wouldn't put it in terms of believing in the war. I believe in God, I believe in the president, I believe in the Bible. I support the president's decisions. There are times when war is necessary. I can't imagine how tough it must be to be in the president's position with so much responsibility. He has tremendous conviction and courage to do what he believes is right when so many are against him.

I believe in the War on Terror and the War in Iraq because it allows us the opportunity (thanks to the consent of the terrorists) to see an otherwise invisible enemy and to kill them with relative ease. Our occupation of Iraq also removes the oil wealth of Iraq from the hands of terrorists and their tyrant friends who support them, especially Saddam (dead) and Iran. Terrorists have diverted much resources, which normally would be brought against the American homeland by an invisible enemy, for an open confrontation with American forces in their own backyard; an opportunity tough for them to resist in their need for immediate gratification of the desire to fight us, though they are always terribly outmatched, out-trained, and out-gunned by us. The only downside are the civilian casualties (collateral damage) because the terrorists hide behind them. Fortunately, these civilians tend to be the ones who were supporting the terrorists with food, lodging, munitions, supplies, intelligence, etc., hence the close proximity, so in reality these civilians are really acting more as noncombat/support soldiers.

Hind sight is 20/20 and with hindsight I think we should have taken out Iran or North Korea first, but we're in there and we need to stay there until the Islamic radicals are utterly defeated. victory in Iraq will show the terrorists that we mean busniess and we won't be detered by bloodshed. I weep for every lost soldier in Iraq but the cost in lives of not winning will be much greater in the end.

I believe the War we are fighting is for a just cause.
Don't think that this is Bush's War; you and your liberal friends supported the invasion initially, and the UN had sanctions against Hussein.

I don't like war but I believe that at times war is necessary. Just think what would happen if we(US) never entered WWII.
Possible situation:
Hitler could have potentialy dominiated the world. They dominated Europe.

The short answer is that winning in Iraq and Afghanistan will help bring peace to the Middle East and help keep Iran in check so they don't do anything stupid.

Because someone who wants to kill you because you believe in Jesus instead of Muhammed does not want to sit down and talk about it. No matter how peacfull you are, they hate you. Buddhists are some of the nicest people in the world and look what they did to those statues in Afghanistan. They hate and believe it is their mission to kill whatever is different then themselves, no matter how peacefull you are.
