1Co 5:11 But I now write to you not to associate with anyone named a brother, if he is immoral, greedy, an idolater, a slanderer, a drunkard, or a robber, not even to eat with such a person.
Also such people should be expelled from the church according to Pauls teaching.

Of course this verse can be applied in today's context. It's more a matter of whether people will do it or not. Understand that Paul was talking about a sinning brother in the church, that fellowship should be cut off from a rebellious sinning brother. Yet this cutting off of fellowship is restorative in nature, hopefully to bring the brother back to the fold and also to protect the community of believers from the influence of sin. Bad company corrupts good morals, which is why ostracising is effective in protecting the others.

Now I ask you brother. Sense you have been saved have you been immoral, even had lustful thought? Has anything in your life been more important then the Kingdom of GOD? You ever talk bad about Atheist or the trolls on Yahoo? Have you ever taken something home from work that didn't belong to you? Well if you answered yes then I am sorry I can't associate with you. LOL See how silly this is? This is clearly saying that if someone calls themselves a Christian and has no desire to repent then do not fellowship with them. In short (stick with the stickers) You can pray for them. They are welcome at church Just don't spend all weekend watching porn at their house.

This verse applies only to believers. If you claim to be a Christian, and are any of the above, you are not allowing the Holy Spirit to do His work in you. The plain simple fact is, that these kind of people will drag young christians, and young children down. It is hard, but the truth. If you will not yeild to God, why do you want to be a part of his body?

Remember that Jesus came to earth ~in order to~ dine with the drunkards, the cheaters, the tax collectors (scum of their day), etc., in order to bring them into the light.
Paul is concerned about the newly founded order (Christianity...originally called "The Way") will be corrupted by those who claim membership, but are actually evil (for the reasons you mentioned).
What does this mean? Preach to these fallen brothers. Help them to convert their ways and join you in the way of Christ. But if they say they are one of you...and really are not...do not associate with that person.
I hope this helps.

One of the many inconsistencies in the Bible. That passage tells us to ignore those kinds of people and to stay away from them as much as possible. However other parts of the Bible would teach us to treat them the same as any other person, to see them no differently, to look past their flaws and to help them in any way that we can.
The Bible's teachings could be valuable to today's society, but it often gives us conflicting messages, meaning you couldn't apply all of it without disrupting some other part of it.

Yeah, hang around and encourage wickedness, great IDEA!
Sometimes you have to love someone enough to tell them they are on the wrong path, and this is it.

Why do you people constantly get the old testament confused with the new testament. Everything changed after Jesus's death. Why do I keep having to explain this.
