Ok I asked this question once and got no response the first time. My son has taken the five tests to complete his GED and passed all but two the reading and writing. He has tested twice for those and can't seem to pass. Now he first attended a military school that assisted with preparing for the GED but that course is done, he is now registered with the local community college to finish the last two. I would like to see him pass this time because with each fail he gets more discouraged. Are there additional study materials that we can buy other than what the community college will give him to help him out? Like one of those "any subject" for dummies type books. Thanks

There are literally hundreds of self-help books on taking the GED. To locate these titles you can search WorldCat at http://www.worldcat.org using the subject phrase "General educational development tests -- Study guides".

When you get the results, click on one of the titles and you will see a link in the page that says "Libraries worldwide that own item." Click on this link for a list of libraries near you that own the item. (If you haven't use WorldCat before, it will ask for your zipcode so it can find nearby libraries for you.)

Your public library and the community college library should hold some of these books, and if not, your son can ask them to get copies through interlibrary loan. You could also purchase your own copies from www.amazon.com or from your local bookstore.

Hope this helps. Good luck to your son with his studies.

you should try to go to the library or ask someone who has had experience.
