I usually pull the battery pin when I am storing my watches. It seems to prolong battery life.

Well, Storeing a watchs in a drawer can drain faster and can not also.

#1, if you do what the 2nd person said (bandit) then the watchs will last alot longer when storing them. Thats what i do when i have some.

#2, when you store watchs, try to keep them in room tempature because when it gets to hot or to cold. They need to work alittle hard to keep going. Almost like a dying battery. So they do drain alittle faster.

I did a test of my own. I had 5 watches and i put them in my drawer for about 2 months. I had 4 the same and 1 cheap micky mouse watch. 2 of the 4 i undid the pins and the others i left running. After the 2months were up. I took them out and the 3 i left pins in only 1 was still ticking (Off and on) I put the pins back in the other 2 and they worked fine.

I believe the 3 died because to much heat.

How would the storage location cause a difference on the strain on the battery?

Now, some watches are solar. They use a solar panel to keep the battery charged. If one of these were put in a drawer and in the dark then it would run out of power. There used to be self-winding watches that relyed on the motion of a person walking to keep them wound up. I would not be suprised to find some of these used to keep a battery powered up.

However, if the watch has to be stored someplace safe, it will need to be put away. Storing it in a drawer or in a box or wherever should have the same effect on the battery life.
