distorted copys of hadith book and holy qur'an in america?Please check this out?

last week I saw copy of qur'an in my friend home and tried to read it to know about Islam and I like it, yesterday I bought 2 copies of hadith book and qur'an and I saw distorted verses and it's distorted Islam.
Where I can found the real copies?

apparently any translation of the Koran is considered not the word of Allah,. so all English translations are to be considered distortions.

How did you know they were distorted? It must be from some prior knowledge where did you get that from? How do you know which is distorted and which is not?
