I do not believe that this is an anxiety attack. My daughter gets them(anxiety attacks) example sometimes ifmy daughter is riding in the car and the windows are up, all of a sudden she feelsin tomed. Their are many different anxiety attacks. I would sugest you go to the library andread up on the problem. Butterflies? well,, drinking to much, thinking of someone you are in love with, excited about something can cause thils. I am not a doctor, but I think a few of my suggestions may possible help you.CONCERNED FRIEND

They may be anxiety related but I doubt it since it happens at night. Sounds like a normal part of menopause. I experienced the same thing only it felt like my nerves were crawling under the skin of my arms. Kind of like when you are nervous even though I wasn't nervous. I was having trouble sleeping at the time and my health care provider put me on low dose nortriptyline for a short time and that really helped. What you are experiencing is normal though and is fine unless it gets bothersome.

usually anxiety attacks are more than just the butterflies in the stomach and often you have heart palpitations, sense of impending doom, very frightening; usually associated with depression and stress but can be without provocation. It is unusual that it wakes you up!

Maybe they're not anxiety attacks, but rather hot flashes. Because when you get an anxiety attack there is something provoking it of which you are aware of, but since you don't know where these feelings come from it may be hormonal.

anxiety attacks are usually brought on by an event, or certain frame of mind, if you haven't suffered from these in the past, i would start with my doctor and try to figure what it is.
