Regardless of how many years ago you believe it was, you all seem to be forgetting something... earth didn't just "appear" as it is today. No planets or stars or anything in the universe magically materializes... it starts from a dust cloud, moves into a planetoid with some mass to form a gravitational field and attract more particles and slowly acretes over a great deal of time. ....in other words, there's no "magic date hour and second" that earth was created. It depends on when you want to count the formation of a planet from... if you want to include when the dust cloud in space first started to form that's one thing, if you're only interested in when Earth was roughly the size it is today that is quite another.

While some scientists claims that we have been around for millions and millions of years, there are some interesting things that would suggest otherwise.
- The Great Barrier Reef (the oldest and largest reef in the world), has been determined to be 4,200 years old.
- The world's oldest tree is 4,300 years old.
- Minerals being washed into the ocean by erosion would bring the salt content of the ocean to its present level in less than 5,000 years!
- Pointed rock hangings, called stalactites are formed by mineral deposits left by dripping water over time. Now some scientists say that caves that have these must have been around for millions of years... but underneath the Lincoln Memorial, 50 inch long stalactites have formed already. It was built in 1922. Thats 2/3 inch per year.
- There is no evidence whatsoever to prove anything concerning the 4.5 million year date, except scientific propaganda... using procedures in "science" that normal people couldn't possibly understand.
The fact is that human history only dates back around 6000 years. This was always the common understanding of even the pagans in antiquity. Nothing that scientists have ever actually proven without significant holes would suggest anything dating further back. Whether that was when God created the heavens and the earth or when the first human came to "evolve" is for you to decide.

The Earth as well as the rest of the Universe came into being in the year 1990 A.D. as we reckon it. That was when my good friend and dog Ajax was born. All things come from the mind of Ajax. For Ajax so loved the world that he gave us the illusion of time before his arrival and after his departure. He dies in our perceptible reality in 2004.

The lowest scientific estimate I've seen is 2.5 billion but most estimates say it is over 4 billion years old.

God created the Earth in 1947, complete with billions of people. Satan gave them false memories to hide the truth from us and test our faith.

6000, so say the creationists... you cant prove its not that young.
Of course you cant prove it wasnt made about 22 minutes ago either.
If god is not a malicious trickster then we'd use the more realistic time of 4.55 billion years, with a universe 13.7 billion years old.
