I think you meant to post somewhere besides immigration.

I think that those people who say no corporal punishment for MY kids should have to withdraw them from school on the first incident that would call for corporal punishment, and not return them EVER to school. If you haven't taught your kids manners and decency at home stop exporting your mistakes to the rest of the school and home school them. They are your little darlings, I'm sure you wouldn't mind putting up with their crap as you never bothered to teach them to be civilized anyway.

NO. in fact learning should be a beautiful experience and not some chore to get to be someone in life. The student should respect the teacher and the teacher should be able to assess each student and impart education that suits a student. not everyone is made to be super normal in education and we all have our core-competencies that we excel in and the educational system should encourage the strengths of the student and try to improve the weaknesses.

Children subjected to corporal punishment start disliking school as an area where beautiful learning takes place. Also counselling with parents about children behaviour, if found unsuitable should be periodic. Children should play a bit in school and art and music classes should be part of the curriculum. It is in school that we all learn that winning and losing are two sides of the same coin.

Why is this in immigration?

By the way, there should not be corporal punishment in schools. Not that the idea of it is entirely wrong, but we've all seen the type of incompetents who become principals and teachers sometimes. Its just too risky in general.

am definitely in two minds with this YES I do think it should be BUT after working as a teacher trust me there are some teachers that would actually ENJOY this regardless of whether the child had done anything to warrant being punished or not saw more than one case of abuse of power.

Certainly raised mine with more than a few short sharp smacks, 99% of them very justified and unlike most of the kids I see out in public these days could actually take mine out in public without them being little snots, but would very uncomfortable with either having to smack a child via my job OR having someone else smack my child...............believe me if they screw up I WILL deal with it...........certainly dont need someone else doing my job.

As for the whole question its rather a moot point as you can not even use a red pen for fear of hurting the little darlings feelings, so the chance of you ever being able to actually hold a child accountable for ANY action they do is so remote.

No. Some people do not agree with corporal punishment when parents do it so it would be a big problem to have it in schools.

a timely controlled rap with a cane on the outstretched hands or the calf of the legs does more than a thousand angry words.

No because you inevitably have those who abuse the power, not to mention hitting a child does not teach them a lesson, sure they may not do it again, however they will be lacking the skills to take accountability and resolve conflict.

Yes but the parents should be notified and allowed to come and witness the action.

Nope, I should be the only one to decide if my kid gets a spanking. I don't want a stranger making that choice.

And what does this have to do with Immigration?
