my daughter was just sick not even two weeks ago, and last night threw up in the middle of the night. i thought that once you had the sickness, you would be immune for a few months at least. she complained of her tooth hurting but then her stomach did too and she got sick. any suggestions?? she is almost 9 years old

Be very careful to avoid cross contamination in the kitchen. "Stomach flu" is usually food poisoning via salmonella or another similar food borne bacterium. Viral "stomach flu" isn't as common as you might think. It's normally a cold or another viral illness that's just making her nauseous.

Stomach and gut infections can be caused by many different organisms. They are due to contaminated food and drink. See that she washes her hands before eating, and doesn't put contaminated objects in her mouth.

sounds more like food poisoning.
