Almost all the major religions including Islam, Roman Catholic(currently requires dispensation), Protestants, Hinduism, Buddhism permit and in some cases command cousin marriages. There are many instances in Bible and Qu'ran also. Modern genetic research downplays the risk of cousin marriages. It is very common in Middle East, Pakistan and India and its sub-continents!! What will be ur position as an Indian about marrying cousins?

There is nothing wrong with this type of marriage if there is love. And you are right research shows that the risks of genetic abnormallities in offsprings is relatively the same as non related couples (2-3%). If you love your cousin get married. Best of luck.

Marriages to first cousins in modern Western society are frowned upon, even though they are not considered to be incestuous.

For a list of relationship prohibited in the Bible, read Leviticus, Chapter 8.

definite, you may, this is completely criminal. fairly, your babies won't unavoidably have many DNA issues in any respect. whether you married your first coursin, the threat is only very extremely greater and this isn't any longer susceptible to ensue. So i'm not sure if the threat is even greater for 2d cousins in any respect. that's a trouble-free false impression.

Honestly, I have no opinion about it whatsoever. I don't care who anyone marries. It can be cousins, same sex, or different races. I have more of a "as long as it's not hurting anyone, go with it" kind of philosophy.
I've heard the probability of having retarded or deformed kids only goes up maybe 3 percent. I was also told that my great-grandparents, from Sicily, were cousins. They had 6 kids. Not one of them was deformed or retarded. In fact nobody in my family has ever had any issues with this, so it's more of a social thing to me than a medical one. I wouldn't marry my cousin in a million years, but I don't really care about what anyone else does. It is their life, not mine.

Some people out there thinks its okay to do it as long its not your first or second cousin. But for what i think about that, its just plain out wrong and sick. that's my opinion about it. but if you want to go ahead and to do it....I am not going to stop ya i have no right too, the only thing i can do is giving you advice and what i think about it. Good luck!

We are not from separate planet, human evolution starts from this planet and I believe it was started some ware from Africa,there for we all related to each other so it is nonsense to say you cant marry with a cusion, chances of getting disease are same when you are not married with blood relative, look at example of westerns they are all sick

Well! A person has ultimate freedom to choose his own path in his life.

In this case your question is standing on a cross road and we need to decide which path we need to go.

If your whole decision making process is influenced by the religion then ofcourse you can go ahead with what religion has recommanded;

However, if you think you tend to take relialistic stand then you should follow what sience recommends.

All the best.

for a roman catholic...you may only marry your cousin when you're old and can't produce children or if they're a very distant cousin...they don't incourage it but they accept it
I don't think it's right...I mean if your children could possibly come out with deformities...then i think that means you're not suppose to do that

Hey, I've been close to a couple of my cousins when we started getting into our puberty. It's usually natural for cousins to explore with one another.
There are no laws to prevent your marriage, but it is so socially unacceptible as to be problematic. You should think of the stigma it would cause your children.
