Is it possible to lose weight without exercising? Dieting only?

Absolutely. I just read an article about it on the news. A calorie is a calorie, whether it's burned off or just not consumed.

HOWEVER, dieting without exercise will be slow, plus exercise has a number of other benefits other than weight loss.

I don't really recommend diets without exercise because if that is the case then you would have to eat less calories than your body burns. In my opinion to lose weight you need to increase your resting metabolic rate( the amount of calories your body burns when your resting ) And to increase your RMR you need to do more exercise and eat more. Now I don't know about you but I love eating and I would much rather give up some time in my day to work out than to give up some of my food. If you really really want to lose weight and keep it off you you need to do some exercise, and that doesn't necessarily mean you have sign up at a gym. Do something that you like, and if you're absolutely sure that you hate any form of exercise just try something with someone that you like and you could be surprised at how much fun exercising can be. But if you do decide that dieting is how you want to lose weight go to your doctor. You see that biggest problem with diets is that everyones body is different just because one diet worked for some other girl it doesn't mean that same diet is going to work for you. Best way to lose weight and see results is exercise and good nutrition.

yes you can but you will not be healthy. frankly i do not think dieting is the right way to lose weight. eat everything that are healthy and is not fast-food/junk food but in moderation. this way your body gets all the nutrients and minerals it needs.

exercising does not always mean you need to get into sports or go to the gym and such. you just need to be active, move around a little. you can do housework or go for a 30mins walk. at least do something for just 30mins every day is good enough. mopping the floor tones your arms. sitting on the floor and reaching to clean under hard to reach places tones our stomach area and back. walking tones the legs.

Sure.....but it is slower and possibly unhealthy. You have to eliminate many more calories to lose weight with just diet alone. Exercise helps by burning more calories. Losing weight with diet alone is like cutting paper with just one side of a pair of scissors, you can do it, but it take more time and effort.

Sure, but you won't look good. Ever see the pics of the starving people in third world countries. That's not looking too good.
