Well she got up and came over to me and put her hand on my rooster and stuck her tongue deep down my throat...So I gave her a $10,000 raise....but do you think that was enough???...she does take some great dick-tation..

Most employees aren't MOVED TO THE ACTION TO ask for a raise unless there is a need for it in their lives, so if I wanted to keep her, I think I'd consider chatting with her to find out what's up, and reconsider how quickly you help her out....otherwise,
she may have to look elsewhere!
Then, you will have to go thru the learning curve with someone else who may not be so quick or so bright... Therefore, costing you even more than the raise! We usually get what we pay for. You take care of her and she will likely look out for your
business interests!

Giving a raise should have nothing to do with how cheap YOU are. Should be based on how much you value her as your secretary and how good of a job she is doing.
