Recently my girlfriend of 2 1/2 years and I decided to go on a break (her decision) because she didn't know if she felt the same about me. We have been on this break for about a month now. Some background info, we went to college together, after i graduated, we maintained a long distance relationship for about 5 months. Now she has graduated,and moved and we are even further apart. There are many other factors that play into the situation as well, but I am still very confused about it all. She tells me that she still loves me but that she needs some space to be alone. She also hasn't ruled out the possibility of seeing other people. To make matters even more confusing, I called her last week and she told me that she couldn't stop thinking about me and how she thinks that she wants to get back together eventually. I am confused and very upset by this whole situation. I can't picture being with anyone else. I don't want this break but she does, what do I do?

My guess is that she wants to try out freedom. I'm sure she really does love you, but wants to experience different things before she commits to you fully. I'd say that you'll probably end up getting back together, but she needs time. Just keep doing what your doing, but don't miss any opportunities that come your way. If you become interested in someone else take them out to lunch and have platonic relationship with them. Just because your ex is confused right now doesn't mean you have to be lonely.

I always seem to be the person whom needs the relationship the least is always in control.
I f you want things to work out don't try so hard.Stay focused on what you need.Remember there is Million of women out there.
I had the same situation when i was younger.She was in college and i had my own business.She acted as she could'nt live with out me.But also wanted time apart. The sum of the story is she was looking for something better but does'nt want to lose you until she finds out if she can.

the simple fact that she wants a break and "eventually" wants to get back together means one of two things to me as a female.
1. she just wants to mess around, but doesnt want to either lead you on or mess things up in case it doesnt work out.
2. she is totally into you but needs space to make sure that youre the one.

I think that she just needs some time to see the world. But you should not wait for her. Try to move on & try other opportunities as well.
