We purchased a Daewoo 37" TFT LCD TV a few weeks ago (model DLP-37D1).

When a DVD is played on it the TV will stretch the image too much, this then makes the image blocky and a bit blurry. I've gone through all the screen size settings but to no avail.

Has anyone comes across this problem before? If so, how did you resolve it?

The settings I have tried are:
Auto Wide - Wide - Panorama - Standard - Zoom

It sounds like you may not have adjusted the picture settings on your dvd player yet. Every DVD player has a setup menu that allows you to format the picture for the type of tv you are using.

Now that you have a new TV, you should go back through the DVD setup menu and adjust as needed. I don't know if the TV you listed is widescreen or not, but if it is, and your old tv was not, you need to adjust your DVD player.Hope this helps.

Cheers

all new TVs have the "normal" or "wide" option. u can easily find it on menu using your remote. yours must be set on "wide" thats why u see everything stretched. u can change it to normal :)

It depends on your DVD resolution: whether it is made for widescreen, made for regular, it is a dvd you've burned, or whatever.

It also depends on your DVD player capabilities.
