Calm down please. Go to your supervisor and tell them the error. Next, call 1.800.869.1040 and tell them that you've spoken to your supervisor about fixing your claim status. Let them know that it was a company error. Give them the supervisor's name, the time of the talk by phone or in person, and the date so that they can verify that this is done. If you do it now, someone at the number I gave you should be able to work out a solution for filing this time so that it doesn't cause the pay-in that you fear. Good Luck!

The company did not mess up. You did not screw up. Because you made under $9400 and have a child, you do not owe. You will receive a refund of the total of the earned income credit, the making work pay credit, and perhaps other credits.

You can fix it for the 2007 tax year, but it is what it is now.
Unfortunately, it is each tax payers responsibility to make sure their employer is withholding at the correct amount for them.

www.irs.gov, "individual", withholding calculator, should help.

good luck & blessing
