This is the site that I use (link below)... It addresses your eating and exercise habits to help you modify them into a healthy lifestyle.

You need long-term changes that you can stick with for the rest of your life. I started this last year, and am down to a normal BMI, took up running (never thought THAT would happen), and got back to the clothes I was wearing in college - same weight I was when I met my husband. I'm a lot healthier than I have ever been (even when I was skinny, I was constantly sick). I learned to modify my grocery list, and am on a healthy eating plan that I am actually EXCITED about - I could eat this way for the rest of my life. It took some time, but I'm finally on track. Best thing - it's free.

You can safely lose 23 pounds. It's not recommended you go below 127 unless you want to get sick and be underweight. To get rid of fat - start by doing at least 3 hours of cardio exercise a week. That can be bike riding, running, jogging, treadmill, elliptical machine, or aerobics. As for diet plans, just eat healthier. Get your 5-8 servings of veggies and fruits a day. Eat lean meats. Keep your grains whole and down to 1 serving a day. Eat 2 servings of low fat dairy per day. Make sure you take a multi-vitamin. Don't diet. And if you really want a slice of pizza or one piece of chocolate - don't deprive yourself. Eat it, count it, enjoy it, and don't make it a habit. Also - don't beat yourself up for falling off the healthy eating wagon once in awhile. We all have days. Just try to make them infrequent. To start, maybe once every two weeks. Then cut it back to once a month. The rest of that time, make healthy food choices. It's really not that hard.

Diet and fitness work together toward a healthy lifestyle. Changing your diet and your level of fitness is what can change the way you look and feel. The best way to lose weight is about living a healthier life than what you may be living now. You will need a complete lifestyle change and you will need to be committed. The body loses about 2 pounds a week optimally and that's 2 pounds that stay off. When you drop at a faster rate your body could potentially rebound and either plateau your weight loss or put extra weight on. If you are committed then you should reach your goal.

There are 5 most important things that must go together in any weight loss program. These are part of changing your complete lifestyle to one that is healthier. They also help you to naturally optimize your metabolism. The faster your metabolism the better your body uses your food for energy, instead of storing it as fat.
I put them in the order of importance.

1. Eat more. Yes eat more. More meals that is. It is best to eat a small meal every 3-4 hours. The meal should be just large enough to where you are not hungry, as opposed to eating you are full. There is a difference, think of it as no bigger than the size of your two fists put together. Eating 1 or 2 meals a day slows your metabolism down. You should have at least 4-6 meals a day. For most a ratio of carbs-proteins-fats should be 50%-25%-25% is good, but each person is unique.

2. Drink more water. Most of us don't have enough water. This means our bodies are dehydrated. Two things a dehydrated body has trouble doing, one is releasing water. In order to lose fat you must be able to release water, because fat cells in your body are composed of mostly water. A dehydrated body cannot build very well. Muscle tone indicates a constant building state in your body. If your body isn't building that means it is losing muscle and it's never good to lose muscle that slows your metabolism and makes you look flabby.

3. Maintain a balanced workout regimen of cardio and resistance (weights). Cardio is good for fat burning and it's easy to do and to progress yourself. Resistance is a little harder because it's not as easy to know what to do. If weights aren't your thing then try Yoga or Pilates. Both are very effective resistance and core training and can help you maintain lean muscle and increase your overall metabolism.

4. Smart supplementation of your diet is your best solution to making sure you get the nutrients your food doesn't give you. A daily multivitamin will suffice in most cases, and if you don't like pills they sell it in liquid form. Plus cleanses, as well as detox formulas are awesome for eliminating toxins we take into our bodies without knowing.

5. Sleep is a very important part of any healthy lifestyle regimen. When we sleep our bodies and minds refresh themselves and allow us to function at an optimal level. Sleeping allows muscles to rebuild themselves and when they do that, it speeds your metabolism.

You may ask why I gave you this long list instead of just telling you what exercises to do. The reason is if you think that exercising is all you need, well its wrong. If exercising is all we needed to look and feel great then everybody who works out at the gym would have great bodies and be healthy. If you have been to a gym before you know its not true.

Don't put the pressure on yourself by saying"DIET" Just change your eating habits and your kids eating habits too. You will all benefit from this. Cut out most of the junk food. I said most not all because if you never allow yourself a treat one day you will crack and over eat all the junk you crave. Eat more fruits and veggies. Don't drink juice because of the extra unnecessary calories. Drink lots of water. I am sure being a single mom makes it hard to get a good work out in but how about walks or bike rides with the kids or even roller blading.Good Luck to you.

There isn't only unfortunately. What I mean is that you cannot achieve your goals with diets only.

If you're serious about losing weight in a safe and natural way then read the following article here:

No worries, nothing to sell you:) - just great info.

I have had fantastic success with Somercising. It is simply about combining your food groups in a way that is more beneficial to your digestion. You can eat extremely well and healthfully if you learn to time your meals properly. (I.E. Don't combine a fat or animal protein with a carbohydrate meal.) The best part of all for me is that I seem to have rebooted my metabolism by avoiding refined sugar. Now instead of loading up on sugar and burning off only the sugar all day I have actually tapped into the fat reserve. Best of luck to you!

Try Weight Watchers... it teaches you how to eat healthier and shows you how much and what you should be eating. It's pretty user friendly and will fit into a lifestyle with kids... they can eat what you eat... you aren't restricted to rabbit food. Good Luck!!

So sorry for your problem but there is no answer to that. Eat sensibly is all i can say. Unfortunately as you get older your metabolism slows right down and it is so much harder to loose weight...You could try seeing your doctor and see if he will prescribe you diet pills...Hope you do it....

This diet helped me lose 5-10 pounds each summer. My mom goes on it all the time, when she wants to lose weight, and she is in her sixties. It does take willpower, so if South Beach didn't work for you, you might not be able to do this. We always changed the ingredients to make it more interesting. Hope this helps!

BASIC FAT BURNING SOUP DIET

Here is a healthy method to lose weight that doesn't cost very much. If you follow the rules, you will lose a lot of weight. This diet is used in hospitals for patients who need to lose weight rapidly so they can have surgery.

Fat-Burning Soup
1-2 cans green beans
1-2 cans tomatoes
6 green onions
1 pound carrots
4-6 stalks celery
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 head cabbage
Seasonings: salt, pepper, curry, parsley, boullion, or hot sauce.

Cut vegetables in small to medium pieces. Cover with water in soup kettle. Bring to boil, cook 10 minutes, then simmer until vegetables are tender. (You can change some ingredients to suit your tastes, just as long as you don't add starchy vegetables like dry beans, peas, or corn.)

Eat as much of the soup as you want. It will not add calories. The more you eat, the more you lose. If eaten alone for indefinite time, the soup could cause malnutrition. The following diet is suggested:

Day 1: All fruits except bananas. Cantaloupe and watermelon are lower in calories than most fruits. Eat only the soup and fruits. Drink only unsweetened tea, cranberry juice, or water.

Day 2: All vegetables, fresh, raw, or canned. leafy green vegetables are best--no dry beans, peas, or corn. Eat with the soup. At dinner time, you may have a large baked potato and butter. Eat no fruits.

Day 3: Eat all the soup, fruits, and vegetables you want. Do not have a baked potato. If you have eaten for 3 days as above (and have not cheated) you will find you have lost 5 to 7 pounds!

Day 4: Bananas and skim milk. Eat up to 3 bananas and drink as many glasses of water as you can on this day, along with the soup. Bananas and milk are both high in calories, but you will need the potassium, carbohydrates, protein, and calcium, to lessen your craving for sweets.

Day 5: Beef and tomatoes. You may have 10-12 ounces of beef and a can of tomatoes or as many as 6 fresh tomatoes on this day. Try to drink at least 6-8 glasses of water to wash away the uric acid in your body. Eat the soup at least once this day.

Day 6: Beef and vegetables. Eat all the beef and veggies you want. You can even have two or three steaks if you like, with your leafy vegetables, but no baked potato. Be sure to eat the soup at least once.

Day 7: Brown rice, vegetables, and unsweetened fruit juice. Be sure to have the soup at least once today.

The end of the 7th day, if you have followed the above diet, you will have lost 10-17 pounds. If you have lost more than 15, stay off the diet for two days before resuming again for day one.

My mom uses this diet to lose just a few pounds. She changes the soup a lot to make it more interesting, like adding salsa to one batch, or leave out the cabbage or carrots. You could add chicken breast meat, but it will add calories.
