i have always saved anything i download to cd, now today when i try i get the message.
"you do not have permission to to save in this directory see administrator to obtain permission"
i am the only person who uses this pc, any help welcome.

thanks for replies so far, i am the adninistrator and i have tried what you both advised. still no joy, it seems very odd

Windows uses three levels of users, administrators, Limited and guest.

Only when you are logged on as the administrator can you access everything on the computer.

If you got tired of entering a user name and password, and created a new user profile, it may not have administration privileges, so there are some folders that you do not have access to.

You aren't the only one in this kind of a fettle. I cannot tell what might be wrong from here, but you may be able to determine what kind of access you have by going to the control panel, double clicking on "User accounts" and see what is listed. If it is only a "Limited Account" then you must have another way to log on to your computer.

Try clicking the Start menu, then "Log Off" and "Switch User".
and see if there is a choice of someone else to log on as.

Built in copy protect of the sftwr U have dwnlded. Save to file and copy 2 CD.

It sounds like you are logged out of your system. try using the log out function on the start menu then log in again using your (administrator) account.
