18 percent of the world population is atheist/agnostic/freethinker, which equals about 1 billion. Then there are 800 million Buddhists, who don't believe in God (Buddha is not considered a god), so that's about 2 billion of us.

Weak.
Since when Atheist and Buddhist are the same. Every taken math! try it, it is an eye opener.

FYI. there are more than 2 billion Christians in the world.
There are
33% Christians
2.5% Atheist
Buddhists 3.8 %

Unlike You. NO, it does NOT bother me. I believe in Live and let Live. If that is what those people want their religion to be, so be it.

Nice try, now go play in the sand little kid.

First off, don't lump free thinking in with atheist. Not all atheist can think freely(or think at all for that matter). And educated intelligent Christians do quite well with free thought.

Second, yes 2 billion people burning in hell does bother me. I'd like to see those numbers go way down before it's too late. Plenty of room in Heaven for all 2 billion of you. Come on over.

Yes, it worries me. Atheists murdered 180,000,000 million theists in the last century. That, coupled with the fact that they are hyper-sensitive, opposed to free speech, free religion and free thought...

59% of the world's atheists live in Communist China - and we all know what kind of civil rights record they have.

I wasn't even counting the Nazis. But now that you mention it, here are some quotes from Hitler the Christian:

"The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity. The deliberate lie in the matter of religion was introduced into the world by Christianity. Let it not be said that Christianity brought man the life of the soul, for that evolution was in the natural order of things. Christianity is a rebellion against natural law, a protest against nature. Taken to its logical extreme, Christianity would mean the systematic cultivation of the human failure. The best thing is to let Christianity die a natural death. When understanding of the universe has become widespread, Christian doctrine will be convicted of absurdity. Christianity has reached the peak of absurdity. And that's why someday its structure will collapse. The only way to get rid of Christianity is to allow it to die little by little. The reason why the ancient world was so pure, light and serene was that it knew nothing of the two great scourges: the pox and Christianity. Christianity is an invention of sick brains: one could imagine nothing more senseless, nor any more indecent way of turning the idea of the Godhead into a mockery. There is something very unhealthy about Christianity."

Wow - He should have been a preacher! Dawkins couldn't have said it better.

Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and Castro were atheists, just to name a few. And the Nazi regime was founded on the philosophy of Neitzsche, who we all know proclaimed the gospel that "God is dead." Or do you want to dispute the fact that Nazis were out to create the Superman? Man is the meaning of the earth... blessed he who dies so that the Superman will be born.

Nope, doesn't bother me at all, in fact it bolsters my faith.
"For wide is the path that leads to destruction, but narrow is the gate...." you know the rest I'm sure.

Brendan, you don't honestly believe that Hitler was a Christian do you? I mean, did you read the quotes that Utuk provided? Hitler's book is available online, read it, you'll know he is NOT a Christian.

Free thinkers and Agnostics are not necessarily Atheists.

The World's EXPRESSED atheists amounts to about 5-7% and the world's EXPRESSED religious amounts to about 75-80% and the world's EXPRESSED Christians amounts to about 30-35%.

I think that this story has happened from the begining of christianism about 2000 years ago. Jesus wasn`t accepted from his own people in Israel, and now the head of catholic church is in Italy (the romans that were in the power in those times).Jesus told his disciples to go all over the world and teach everybody his evangel. It isn`t easy, but a lot of good people have tried to show everybody in the five continents to listen to Jesus word, but in these times where a lot of people only think in money and what money can buy, it is difficult to listen to Him.

whatever the statistics are worry is not the word- it is a concern that less people will be rejoicing in heaven with me- I am praying that more and more of the lost will come to the knowledge of the truth. How about you?

There are over 1.2 billion Catholics in this world. Then add in the various denominations of Christians (about 800 million), and you get an equal 2 billion to match those who do not believe in God.

We are not the minority, my friend.

Religion isn't about a contest of who has more. It comes down to who believes in God and who doesn't. Not up to us to judge others. That job is left to God. It's just up to us to love others and hope they make the right choices when it comes to decisions about beliefs in God.
