It means we each create our own hell by our unloving actions.

This is why Jesus told us to love our neighbors and made no exceptions to this rule. If we follow his advice it keeps us out of our self made hell.

Lo and behold.
Plato's ghost is all muddled up.
Hinduism by the very fact that it has a profound and unmatched philosophical base is best qualified to be called a religion.
Those which are based on the principle that "you shall not question but accept as truth..." are not religions but 'Faiths' or "beliefs".
The founding pillars of religion are Freedom of thought, word and action. Hinduism provides them. Hindus have always challenged their own philosophy without fear or favor. Intellectual Honesty in matters spiritual is only found in Hinduism.

And an ignorant terms it as a culture. Wow a PhD.D thesis possibly.

Millions of Hells ? No. Hell is nothing but the sufferings in this world by an individual. This is the result of the deeds of the past birth. There is no eternal Hell. Redemption is assured to all. But every individual should undergo the punishment due.

Millions of worlds !!
The Upanishads proclaim that every Bhramand(universe) has a Brahma(creator) and Brahmas are countless. Thus it can be millions of worlds but not because of Hells but because of Brahmas.
Remember Hinduism does not have a negative approach.
It has a positive outlook with final salvation for every living being ie. human, animal or plant

Hinduism is not areligion. It's a culture. Most of the original Hindu scripts have an technical explanation. even the pictures of various God forms send a message. So off course this belief about millions of hells (as per written in original scripts) must be true. The only thing is that we need to interpret it accurately to know the scenario.

Plenty of hindu concepts are being compared to quantam physics, surgery, cosmology, etc. Also the are being considered to develop medicines and space exploration. When few years ago Copernicus suggested that the earth was round, the hindu scripts had mentioned about earth being round alot earlier. Decimal numbering system was suggested by this very culture, the first surgery in the world was carried out by this very culture, so called pythagoras theorm was formulated by this culture at first, the oldest known medical treatment system 'Ayurved' was developed by this culture which is still far more effective, and a hell lot more. Hinduism has offerred this world with plenty of developmental knowledge.

So what you have asked cannot be ingored. Gotta do some research on the statement...
