My hair is really soft and not manageable at all. It is babyfine and tends to get oily. What can I do to make my hair more manageable and less soft after washing it. I need to wash it every day because it gets greasy if I don't. I also have flyaways after blowtrying. Is there anything I can do to make it feel thicker? I have tried everything there is on the market and it doesn't really work. I need something that makes my hair stronger and gives it hold. I use tons of hairspray to put it into shape and make it stay but I'd prefer to use less product! Anybody else out there with the same problem or any suggestions?

If you use conditioner, stop. it will just make your hair softer and more likely to get oily.

Also, try and find a shampoo that is for fine, or flat lifeless hair. This will thicken it and give it a bit more body from the get-go.

Also, avoid products with holding properties like hairspray or mousse, go for things like thickenning spray.

Also, to make it look a bit thicker, don't have too many layers cut into it. A blunt cut like a bob or shoulder length with 1 or 2 layers in it will make it look thicker but it will still have body and movement

Are you sure you don't have my hair? :-)

Here is what I do:
Wash your hair in good, expensive shampoo. I've found that shampoo is something that you can't go cheap on with fine hair. Go to a salon and ask a stylist for the one you need. Redkin products are excellent.

Blow dry your hair immediately after washing it. The longer I wait to dry it (within the hour), the more oily it still is after I dry it.

Use a nickel full of conditioner on your ends only! Don't put it anywhere else on your head but the ends.

Don't brush your hair too much. This makes it very oily.

Is your hair long? If it is, it may be weighing down your hair. I had fairly long hair in December and my hair was getting more oily by the day and I couldn't figure it out. My hairstylist told me that your hair gets heavy and this causes it to sit closer to your scalp which in turn, makes it very oily. Try taking an inch or two off your hair.

Hope this helps!

You've just described my hair. I feel your pain. ;~)

Here's what I do ... a lot of your problem may be in your haircut. I suggest long layers. This make your hair light enough to hold curl if you choose to wear your hair curly. Also, you can wash your hair daily if you need too, that's no problem, just use a light weight product to style it. I use Biolage's liquid gel and LOVE it. It's light weight, no scent and doesn't make my hair sticky. :~P

Also, try applying the product to your hair and blow dry your hair upside-down. This helps my hair. There are lots of different things you can do but this basic idea should help you start styling your hai the way you want.

Good luck!

This is hard hair to control. My best advice is not washing it so much. If hair is to clean this is when you have the real soft hair that is hard to control. A little oil isn't such a bad thing if you can use it to your advantage. The first day try wearing your hair up (if it is long enough), pin it halfway up with a barrette or ponytail or anything - work with it. The second day you should have some bend in your hair and something to work with. Use a curling iron or velcro roller and you should be able to get it set with some type of style. Play with it. If you have to absolutely wash it everyday...grow you hair out longer and get some great accessories to tie it up with. There are some great styles to put hair up with and that may help you in the long run. I have a sister and mother who have your kind of hair. They both have a really good hairstylist that is good with cutting, coloring their hair. They both use curling irons and velcro rollers alot with some kind of spray gel. Unfortunately they have to work hard in getting their hair to look nice. My other sister and I were lucky, we got dad's hair...my hair will pretty much do what I want. Good luck!

My hair is really fine too. I stay away from any shampoo that is a creamy consistency. Use clear shampoos because the creamy ones have extra conditioning to them. Also if you have to use a conditioner only put it on your ends and rinse it really good. For the fly aways get an anti static brush or try spraying hairspray on your brush and run it through your hair. I just bought Sunsilk volumizing shampoo someone told me it works really good. Hope this helps you out.

what if...OH, while do u take showers? I take showers in the night. i'm too frightened/jittery/hectic in the morning!! i ought to be questioning, "OhMaiGawd, i visit be late!" (I even have the alarm set at 628AM + I press SNOOZE waaay too in lots of situations.), "Did I do my homework?" (for college), or "Did I shave my legs for my very own coach?" (gymnasium on Sat mornings + Wed afternoons). As i grew to become into asserting, what if u shampoo (i take advantage of organic Essence) your hair only two times (or 3x) each and every week, rinse with water at something of the days - so ur organic oils on ur head brings shine? I try this yet I even have an OILY head. while u dry it (AM or PM), carry ur head the different way up (together as sitting on a chair), + then blow dry. that ought to function some physique. I ought to calm the hair on my head with Anti-Frizz (Garnier) so...i do no longer think of i will rather help u!
