Yes; absolutely. The material does not have to be magnetic to be magnafluxed. The coating that is applied to the S/S is magnetic and penetrates into any minute fractures. It can then be detected by eye or other detectors after being placed under stress.

A good stainless will not magnaflux . That is the way u test for a good quality of stainless the magnet will not attract to it.

I've never magnafluxed stainless, but have used liquid dye penetrant to identify cracks.
